The Urban areas of New York City and London provide a backdrop to these images. Many of these works are from direct observation of people and places with some paintings as constructions through memory and imagination. The city as stage continues to to influence my work.
This series of drawings from the Inferno evolved into two branches. The first ones began as extensions of creatures one might encounter in Hell. But as the series proceeded the drawings took on a more contemporary feel and began to mirror the present Hell of Human tragedy and War. Demons became oppressors; ugly, brutal and revengeful.
